SCE Registration & Career Path for Saudi Arabia (IT Background)

Fahad Ejaz

Hi Everyone, I am currently living in Pakistan. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (non-engineering). I am considering pursuing a Master’s in Electrical Engineering, since it is in a related domain. I have already checked with NUTECH University, which is HEC-recognized, and they have confirmed that I am eligible for admission.

My main question is whether, after completing a Master’s in Electrical Engineering, I would be eligible for registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) as a non-Saudi, or if my bachelor’s being non-engineering would be an issue.

I would also appreciate guidance on which path would be more suitable if my target country is Saudi Arabia. Should I pursue a Master’s in Electrical Engineering, or should I go for NEBOSH instead? Which career path is generally quicker and easier in terms of job entry, sponsorship, and long-term growth and opportunities in Saudi Arabia?

Additionally, I am a bit confused about the experience requirements. In which case would 5 years of experience be sufficient, and in which case would 8 years of experience be required to be eligible for jobs in Saudi Arabia and sponsorship? I have heard that after 5 years of experience one may be eligible for a work visa, but not for SCE registration, and that SCE registration for non-Saudis may require 8 years of experience.

I would really appreciate guidance from experienced members on which path would allow me to:

•Get registered with SCE

•Secure a sponsored job in Saudi Arabia

•Obtain family status and iqama

Thank you in advance for your guidance.
