Considering a move with teaching

osabir

Hello everyone, i hope all are doing well.

My husband and I have been doing some serious thinking about moving to Qatar. I am a biology teacher by profession and have 10 years experience (i am 33 yo) I would love to apply for a teaching job.

We’re hoping you guys can help with some of our queries.

  1. my husband wouldn’t be able to join us for a while due to his business contract here in scotland. How difficult would it be for me to come alone with my two children (7 year and 1 year old) .
  2. Since i currently teach in scotland , i understand most schools follow English curriculum system. Are there any teachers from scotland who have found this straightforward. my worry is getting my head around new curriculum, planning etc with 2 children alone.
  3. If i was successful with my application/job would i be able to travel out beforehand , i.e. during the summer holidays , to try and find my bearings around the city etc or is accommodation only available close to school term time?

i feel like i have a million questions in my mind but at the moment these are the only ones i can really make sense of just now. I would really appreciate any insight anyone can provide.

Many many thanks

Omera
