Hi kutub.ibaq,

Here is a lesson for all ...

Every expatriate - more so, those who come from the South and Southeast Asian marginalised countries like Bangladesh, Pakistan, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Philippines and India - must remain extra vigilant and careful at all stages of their sojourn in Oman.

Chances of people from these countries getting dealt a raw deal is far higher than say, an expatriate coming from the west. Call it racial discrimination or whatever, it is the truth. Therefore every expatriate's primary duty and responsibility has to be to safeguard their personal interests.

In your case, because of your understandable anxiety to land the job you have not exercised enough caution about sharing your last employer's contact details with the new one. And the new sponsor has capitalised on your desperation to his maximum benefit, by offering you a salary which you feel is lesser. Obviously, the old and the new sponsors would have exchanged notes about you and that must have led the new sponsor to decide to cut your package.

Well, now there isn't much you can do except to accept the offer that you have in hand. If you let go of this, you may not find another better paying job any time in the near future. And you will also have to face the same NOC issue with your first sponsor, again.
