welcome to Kuwait Florian; the blog is a great place to start 
three things u must do ASAP:
1) go to meetup.com and register with the Kuwait group there, run by Elena, they organize regular meetups and activities.
2) on facebook, search for a group called expats in kuwait, they have regular coffee meetups.
3) go to abcq8.com, sign up and receive EEK! magazine every week with the latest expat events/ classifieds etc.
and enjoy ^^,
