Apostille/Certification for UK Marriage Certificate for use in Bahrain

Stickybloke

I have been in Bahrain a few months and am now looking to arrange a partner visa/CPR for my wife (still in the UK).  To do this I need to provide my marriage certificate here in BAH.  I've established that this needs to have a UK Apostille but I'm getting different answers about whether or not I need to have it attested/certified by the Bahraini Embassy in London.

Does anyone know if an Apostille alone is ok for a UK marriage certificate?

Thanks

Thanks very much for the swift response, much appreciated.

The MOFA website suggests that apostilled documents can only be certified at the Bahraini Embassy in the country of origin, which is at variance with your (excellent) post which states it is possible to do it at the MOFA here in Bahrain.  I'll have another go at calling the MOFA tomorrow.

No one will pick the phone or give you a clear answer - and you better speak good Arabic to even get that far.

I have physically taken an apostilled document to MOFA Bahrain camp office near Bab Al Bahrain and gotten it attested.
