Moving from Bahrain to Dubai

Dear All,

I am shortly moving from Bahrain to Dubai for Employment / Permanent and planning to take/drive my Car. I am not looking to export and hence, I would like to know if anyone can guide me through the step-by-step process in doing so. Has anyone done this and if so specific things to be aware of?

There are many threads on the forums about exporting cars.

You may not be looking to export but if you are moving to Dubai permanently then you would need to export your car i.e. change the number plates to UAE number plates. Driving foreign number plate cars is acceptable for a period of time and not on a permanent basis - only exception is if you are a GCC national as far as I know.
