Embezzlement Case in Bahrain - Consequences of Non-Payment

Arshad Achu

In Bahrain, a friend of mine has been sentenced to three months in prison for embezzlement, with a court order to repay 562 Bahraini dinars. He is also facing deportation after serving his sentence. What will happen if he is unable to pay the ordered amount upon release? Could he be held in jail until the amount is paid, or would he still be deported? Additionally, would the unpaid amount remain enforceable after deportation, and could this impact his ability enter other GCC countries in the future?

I suggest to get a lawyer.  He can be held till amount is paid or have a negotiated settlement or just deportation.

Since this is a criminal case, his chances might be affected as for work visas, they share a database for criminal cases.
