You can find them in Spain with a Google search for Traductor Jurado or Traductor Jurado de Ingles + Spanish city. Or in USA with a Google search for Traductor Jurado de Ingles a Espanol + USA city. It doesn't matter where they are, only that they are an official registered translator. The Spanish embassy might not care if the translator is a Spain-registered translator, but it's safer as this means it's OK for the embassy and for use in Spain later.

A few years ago, I did the above with our new city (Elche) and it worked fine... with the bonus that when I needed them again I could pop over to their office and save myself the to/from courier fees.

You can pay them online, and they can normally start work immediately using scans/photos of your document. Typically, you have to send them the original by courier, and they'll also return the finished, sworn translation to you by courier. Some (not all) documents need to be legalized/apostilled, so you would do that step before the translation.

I always stress slightly when my only original gets sent away, even if couriers are usually pretty safe. So I prefer to order 2 originals instead of 1 (usually it's a minimal extra cost), or I get a notarized/certified copy done and send that instead of the original. But that's just me, I doubt most folks bother.
