Alicante area next year specifically Vila Joiosa

Hi = just wanted to say hello - new here but seriously looking to move to the Alicante area next year - specifically Vila Joiosa, but open to other options. I will be in europe this May and plan to stop by on my way back to US around May 27, and stay for at least 2 weeks.  Any advice, and suggestions as best place to stay - would prefer apartment type accommodation or Airbnb type - will be just myself, so at least one bedroom and close to the beach (walking distance) bc I probably wont have a car.  Look forward to any feedback from anyone with ideas!
