I guess the safest method of finding a place to rent is through a real estate agency. It might be 30-40euros more expensive in that way, but it surely is safer.
The prices differ gratly depending on the location. For example, a decent , furnished, one-bedroom apartment in the part of the city called Novo Naselje can be found at the price of between 120 to 150euros.
The rent is really not what's expensive in NS.
