Notify Financas Not Resident

jwthompson239

Hello all,

I obtained NHR in March 2020 but then went back to the UK during Covid so haven't been Portuguese fiscal resident between then and now.

Can I notify the Financas of this myself?

Or do I need a Fiscal Representative in Portugal to do this for me since I am not resident right now?

If you have any Fiscal Representatives you rate, near Olhao, please DM me. I would be very grateful.

Thank you.

You are supposed to have a fiscal representative, however if you a 'secure' email box (only ctt provides this in PT), and also if you have no tax liabilities besides income tax (eg property taxes, vehicle taxes, etc in which case the specific legislation may have fiscal representation requirements), you don't need a fiscal representative - however good luck in arguing your way through this (refer specifically to law 'Lei Geral Tributaria' (LGT) - article 19 - 14)
