D7 Approval

Finally! After months of waiting, I received my D7 approval! Happy! But the wrinkle is, I’m leaving tomorrow to go Porto. I had planned to spend the 90 days and come back if I didn’t get the approval by then. I was wondering if I left, could I FedEx my passport to my sister in the US and have her FedEx to the embassy and then when she gets it, FedEx it back to me? Has anyone else done this? My ticket is non refundable and it would be very costly to buy another ticket now. Thanks!

I can't be certain but I think you have to attend in person. You really have to contact the Embassy to get a firm answer.
