Municipality de-registration and Permanent Residence

ashleyanu

Hello,
I had a query regarding the application criteria for a permanent residence.

I am on orientation year visa and would be starting my employment visa from March 2021. I have left the Netherlands for a vacation from December until February 2021 and during this period, I do not have a residential address in the Netherlands. I will return and register in a different municipality in February 2021. I have already applied for a briefadres for these 2 months since I would not be in the country. The briefadres has not yet been processed though and would take a few more weeks.

Would this pose any issue in the calculation of a continuous 5 year stay for PR application in future if I am not registered in the municipality for 2 months although I do have a continuous residence permit? Would de-registering from the municipality cause any issues to my current residence permit as well?

Thanks!

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

The requirements are displayed on the IND website; this link will take you straight there.  Having just re-read it, I don't think your vacation will matter.

Hope this helps.
