Buying property in Ireland from abroad – what to expect?

Hi everyone!

I am wondering if bidding wars are common when buying a house in Ireland across all regions or if it varies depending on the area. Is it something you generally have to expect everywhere or are there areas where it is less common?

Also how responsive are estate agents when you are enquiring from abroad? Do they generally deal with overseas buyers without any issues or can it be difficult to get them to engage with you when you are not currently living in Ireland?
