Car control and (annual) certificate

cdw057

I am up for the control of my car (and obtain my certificate that my car is actually good for driving). This is due in 1st April and after that (under normal circumstances) I could get a hefty fine being spotted without the official allowance,  (In German it is called TUV, I do not know in English).
In these times I really woud like to avoid to go to my garage, would anybody know if there is an exemption (until xx.xx.2021)?

In English its an MOT. If garages are open then I doubt that there be an extension but could be wrong.

Our car was due this month for the testing for safety.
Because of C-19 they are extending the date another 60 days.
In Hungary it is called,Muszaki Vizsga.
As far as we know just add 60 more days to the date your car is due to be tested.

We have a car in for a gearbox repair and we've asked them to get the yearly test done as we want to dispose of the car soon and the test is due in late April.  The repairers haven't told us that there is any problem getting it done or even mentioned extensions. Maybe it's only some areas?

Now you've got me, my husband saw a post on HU FB about 2 weeks ago that said due to C-19 they are extending the due dates for the MOT, safety the 2 year car check up.
It caught his attention because ours is due this month. We thought of taking it in soon anyways in case it needs any repairs done before the next 60 odd days are up.

Thanks all for your reactions and insight, much appreciated, for me it is not so much a matter if it is possible or allowed to have the car checked, it is more that I am paranoia on the topic of Corona, I prefer to avoid visits as much as possible,
Thanks again!!

Maybe it's OK for mechanics to take it for the check but not OK for individuals.

But we've never taken the car ourselves for checks, only the mechanics have taken them.

My husband always takes our car in himself.
So far so good.
