Hard to explain in a few sentences...Long story short, never saw anything in the Good Book about Christmas. The Bible in my view was written by Hebrews for Hebrews. We outsiders are part of the fold but we are not chosen ones.

I have some radical views I know.

I wish I knew where to quote but the Bible clearly states to not partake of pagans ways where they cut trees and decorate with silver and gold.

I had a huge awakening during my life or death health scare. It is personal so I do not judge anyone, I get it, hard to break traditions we grew up with. I only wish everyone on earth peace and joy, it is not up to me or what I think that matters. Personal journey for sure; I do not expect people who do not know me to understand; my own family does not get it. Be happy and be at peace is all we can hope for others. I get upset allot in public because I see people are not living the best life and not being kind to each other, that is the most important thing in life to me.

I totally understand this point of view.  I went to a religious (Church of England) primary school.  I think that's an elementary school in the US.  I enjoyed the stories, but the mystical part I could have done without.   I also think people waste a lot of time not being nice to each other and bearing long term grudges.  On the other hand, lots of people try to be nice, regardless of the time of year.   But there are people who are solidly annoying all year round.  We're only human.

I just heard someone's interpretation of Christmas Eve. It was to go to church and then go to the Chinese restaurant.  How things have changed!  Other people calling in are having roast beef, not turkey. Personal choice is important.

As I type, Santa is flying towards Mozambique.

Gosh, hate to seem like I am down on everything but to me in reality almost everything is not true.

Yule time is from pre Christ era in the N. countries, Xmas comes from Saturnalia, ancient Rome.

Worship to the god Saturn;Tons of food and drink, orgies and 12 days of wildness;

The church could not stop people from their old ways so combined them with the church; Give the people what they want.

In the end people forgot the pagan reasons for their holidays but thought it was Biblical and the way to honor Christ.

OK,my opinion for what it is worth.

We all enjoy good food, drinks and company but it is good to know why we are doing things and make a balanced choice.

Everyone we know is enjoying the day with the customs, we are the odd m    an out.

I am a real party pooper!
