How are the coastal roads in late October ?

Hi everyone — Tony here. I've been living just outside Antalya on the Turkish coast for a few years now, and Greece has slowly become my favourite escape. This autumn I'm planning a slow loop through the Peloponnese: Kalamata down to Areopoli, the Diros caves, and hopefully Monemvasia before the season quietens down. Would love to hear from anyone based down there — how are the coastal roads in late October, and is it realistic to sort out car hire without booking far ahead? Looking forward to learning from this community.
