Blue card category

Hi All ,

I’m an expat living in Germany on deputation for 3 years now , I have been offered a position in the e commerce company.

I understand that the blue card requirement on salary requirements is said below

You have a minimum annual gross salary of 56,800 Euros. A reduced minimum annual gross salary of 44,304 Euros applies to employment in the occupational fields of mathematics, computer science, the natural sciences, engineering and human medicine (not including dentistry) (as of 2021 - the salary thresholds are readjusted for each calendar year).

My question is how do we understand the occupational field for which the job is offered for ?  I’m offered a position of project manager to interface between the IT teams and business. May I know which category Of occupational field is it ? How does the Rathaus understand?

Second question is : is the annual bonus which is paid depending on company performance will that be considered in your annual gross salary ?

Thanks !

The Rathaus has nothing to do with your BlueCard application, at least not in Berlin; you have to contact the Ausländerbehörde.

The job you describe I'd say is part of business administration - unless you have a degree in IT and will be doing something like programming on a daily basis?

As far as I know, only guaranteed income can be counted. Any bonus depending on company performance may or may not be paid, so wouldn't be seen as  part of your salary.

Why would one want a blue card? People seem to think it is like winning the lottery or something but it actually brings limited benefits; mainly that one has a streamlined pathway to get unlimited residency. But already having 3 years of residency then you should soon be eligible without a blue card.

OP says they are on deputation, so it sounds like they may be on an ICT permit, which has a maximum duration of 3 years. Not sure whether time on ICT would even count for an indefinite permit.
