Study visa, blocked account amount increased

TominStuttgart

The amount needed in a German blocked bank account  to cover living expenses to get a study visa for non-EU students is now 11,208 Euros/year - as of Jan. 1, 2023. I had been anticipating an increase but with continuing high inflation, I would not be surprised to see another rise in the next year or so.

Although the linked official webpage refers only to student visa, the same amount (per person, as income, not blocked account) is also needed if a non-EU-national wants to bring a close relative on a Family Reunion Visa (FRV).
