French Tech Visa for Founders: is one support letter enough

Hi everyone,

I’m preparing an application for the certificate recognising the innovative nature of my startup project (French Tech Visa for Founders), filed with the DRIEETS Île-de-France.

I’m not yet supported by an incubator. In that case, the DRIEETS told me I need at least two support letters from ecosystem players: a public research lab, a French university, or a company linked to the French Tech programme.

I’ve obtained a signed support letter from the head of a research team at a French public research institute, as well as a written licence offer for that team’s software. So far, I haven’t been able to get a second letter.

My questions:

Has anyone obtained the certificate with only one letter, backed up by other documents such as a licence offer?

How long did processing take for you?

Does the DRIEETS ask for additional documents, or does it reject incomplete applications outright?

Thanks in advance for sharing your experience.
