I have an Meu1 which is due to expire next year (held for 5 years). do I apply to renew Meu1 for further 5 years or apply for Meu3? what documents are required for this - we are both retired but nothing has changed since original application

Apply for permanent residency

You will need your current residency document passport and 5 years worth of evidence of living here bank account statements utility bills  etc

Oh and whatever the fee is now

Take copies of everything with you

Do we need proof of income or health insurance and marriage/birth certificates again?

When dealing with officials even when they say not required its best to take all paperwork with you.

The old adage is as true today as it has always been

Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it...
