Apostilled Marriage Cert

Can anyone tell me is there a time limit once on a marriage certificate has been apostilled?

Technically, an apostille itself never expires. However, the receiving foreign agency or government usually dictates a time limit on the underlying marriage certificate. Most authorities require that the certified copy of your marriage certificate be issued within the last 3 to 6 months when submitting it for visas, residency, or dual citizenship.

Our marriage certificate was way past 6 mths. ACRO is definitely within 6 months as it obviously relates to a potentially changing result.

Hi,

Our solicitor told us there was no time limit on the apostilled marriage certificate,  only the apostilled ACRO is limited to 6 months.

Hope that helps.
