Rodents in Ceiling Joists,,,HELP!!!

You will need to deal with how they are getting in before getting someone in to deal with the rats, or they will be replaced very quickly. There are several animals that will live in your building, apart from rats and mice, squirrels, polecats and dormice, even feral cats. If your roof is anything like our's, there are gaps all around.

First port of call your neighbour, if not then the mayor should know someone in the village. Good luck

Thanks Sara,,Yes,,i am off to VT today to get Steel Wool (which they cant chew) & silicone to seal holes up,,& proper snap traps & peanut butter,,got that info from rodent company in USA,,,can,t find any professional company in BG???? very odd,,,as they are in joists & need maybe to be fumigated,,yes,,will speak with local mayor soon,,,,Regards eddie

We had the same problem few years ago but we bought 3 to plug-in machines from MrBricolage and never and ever seen any, you need to look at how many sqm to cover, we got one for the main house 220 sqmm one for the garage and one for the renovated barn.

Hi,,were rats between your joists in ceiling??,,as i have tried plug in device which will keep them out of living areas but no affect at all between joists in ceiling,,thanks

They were in the attic and used to come down making a channel inside the walls, first we took care of the wholes and put a metal door then bought the plug-in

Thanks,,,,for info,,,same problem here,,,ive just bought big sheet of steel mesh to block all exit holes in barn which adjoins house,,then put spring traps in place,,,thank you

OMG! So sorry..you need a professional to get rid of,them and close up their way in and out.....someone out there must know a company...

I used humane traps, but not in a humane way.
They would die in there, and other rats would go in to eat the bodies.
I got rid of the lot.

Hi,,yes,ive blocked all holes i can find,,,there in my ceiling joists running around,,can,t find any professional help in BG,,which i find amazing been told to get a cat!! how can i possibly get cat in joists haha,,they need to be smoked/gassed out,,by professional people,,,,prob have to try myself,,cheers

A cage with a one way door.
You bait them, the rats go in for the food, but it's really hard for them to get out.
You can either release them, or just leave them to die, becoming bait for the next rat.
I got rid of the lot using those things.
