Can anyone confirm that Bulgaria is to ban vaping?

I'm surprised by the number of vapers and smokers here in Bulgaria. Loads of people do it both young and old.

Yet lung cancer isn’t a major death cause. Although I don’t smoke,  I find it refreshing to not have the nanny state.

While the Bulgarian Parliament initially proposed a sweeping, total ban on all vaping products in early 2025, lawmakers ultimately scaled back the legislation. They chose instead to target disposable vapes due to soaring youth usage rates and environmental concerns.


In March 2026, the European Commission approved Bulgaria’s legislative amendment to ban the marketing, sale, and distribution of all disposable e-cigarettes (both with and without nicotine). This triggered a three-month transition period for retailers to clear out or export their remaining stock.
