@janemulberry the terms of my visa state that Im not allowed to work and there aren't many employment opportunities around here anyway. The French employ the French, which is as it should be. I'll just keep doing jobs to my house, when I have a bit of spare cash and when I've got a bit further, I'll see about having it valued. Everything rests on the value really, because I bought it when prices were high, so I have a lot of catching up to do. Good luck with yours Jane. I hope you and your other half will be very happy there.

It's all so complicated, isn't it? I hope you can make it work out.

I was thinking of some sort of online side income. I write books and publish online. It doesn't earn a fortune, but is some useful extra money. You write well. There's always room for another memoir of a Brit moving to France!
