Can you get Amazon or shipping from EU countries?

You can get easily items from DE &UK (also Spain, USA takes a long time and is expensive) via GGBG

I use it always. I am Dutch an post/packages from the Netherlands never arrive here. Horror.

I let it send to DE (or from Amazon UK) to their addresses. Works great for me and never had any issue (and I order a lot!).

Postal offices work only for Romania, Poland & the Ukraine for me.

I order "STUFF" through Amazon.de or eBay.de the best courier in my area is Speedy, great service and polite happy drivers. I also have just started ordering online from Praktika, just bought a massive solar panel, about 25 kilos in weight, they carried it up to my apartment on the fourth floor without me asking them. That was Praktika's own delivery service.

Orders from Amazon arrive with no problem. But we are still waiting a sending from. France that was sent early January and is not arriving

I have Amazon.de account and i added my Bulgarian adress. Not all items can be shipped to Bulgaria, but what you can order with the Bulgarian adress i got.

as mentioned above, Amazon.de works well. Deliveries normally take a week from ordering, worth to mention that we live in a small village, speedy will deliver to the village’s centre and Ekont will deliver to our doorstep 😁

Good to hear that Amazon.uk also works in Bulgaria, we may try that next time.

Since Brexit, I have rarely used my Amazon UK account, as the customs tax on items can be prohibitive, along with ridiculous delivery duration, sometimes exceeding a month. Amazon de is a different story. I order from them, but much less over the last six months, as prices have risen significantly and delivery costs on some items, exceed the cost of the item!. However, I will say that the delivery times have improved, as they now use FAN Courier, a Romanian company - on average you wait 7 days for delivery. If you're not in, when FAN Courier tries to deliver, they will deliver the item, automatically, to an Econt office, to which you will be charged a service fee of around 4  Leva.

You should also note that certain Amazon items, such as batteries, cannot be delivered to Bulgaria.

I'm lucky living in Varna, with so many shops and business selling everything, so I now buy locally.

As for the post, Bulgarian post is never going to be the fastest and add that to Royal Mail strike action in the UK and you're looking at around one month delivery times both ways!  I recently received a book that I ordered from the UK - it arrived at the end of January, after ordering it in August last year!  If you're posting anything, you'll need to go to a post office. It's pretty bureaucratic and reminiscent of the Soviet days. I once tried posting a letter in the post office in Veliko Tarnovo - it took 30 minutes to achieve a result and you need your ID.  Collecting from a post office, is a little simpler, you need ID and it's a good idea for them to have your mobile number, so they can notify you of a delivery. Generally, the post office will not deliver parcels to your door, you have to collect them from your locally designated (by them) post office.

Depending on where you are, if you want a reliable fast delivery service, I recommend A1 Couriers , who also use DHL - it's quite expensive but reliable. I sent medication with A1 Couriers to my Aunt in the West of England and she received them within 4 days.

On another note Speedy (Part of the DPD Group) cannot send anything to the UK! Incredible, considering DPD are in the UK!

Econt have a DHL service but it is significantly more expensive, compared to A1 Couriers.

That said, both Speedy and Econt are usually excellent at deliveries within Bulgaria and the Balkans. You will also find, if you order items from Bulgarian websites / companies, they have a system of pay on delivery at either Econt or Speedy. This is excellent, as you can check the goods before paying and if they're not exceptable, return them no charge. I'm lucky, I have a speedy and Econt office within 75 metres of my door and they're both so useful.

The other option, is to find an expat returning to the UK / coming from the UK and ask them to post locally either end.

I was a big fan of ebay and Amazon (dot co dot uk), but that was pre-Brexit. As @cyberescue1 says shipments from the UK now get caught in the non-EU duty/VAT regime. I have stopped using them.

Instead, I use Amazon Spain (dot es), but anywhere in the EU would be fine. Most packages come by courier (DHL etc.) and arrive without issue. But a few get sent by mail, which can be a bit slow/unpredictable (and is usually untrackable).

In any case, Bulgaria now has a bunch of very functional e-commerce options (mostly dot bg), which work great if you have a browser with automatic translation.

I get TVs and household appliances from Technopolis. Furniture from Jysk and IKEA. DIY and materials and bathroom bits (shower, WC, sink, taps, etc.) from Praktiker (and/or Praktis). For bathroom only, I also use BaniaStil (dot com). My amazon substitute is Emag. It's not quite as good, but the shipping is quicker and cheaper because they're local (normally Econt or Speedy courier direct to your address, or your local courier office if you prefer). I think I've used them for mobile phones, routers, drones, dashcams, tools, bicycles, e-scooter, clothing, running shoes, bedding, furniture, small kitchen appliances (microwave, air fryer, blender, kettle), they have a bunch of stuff.

I agree, ordering from the UK is not an option. I desperately need to buy equipment (PC rig)...in the UK I used scan, now the import is 30% to ship to Europe and most likely with be crushed at the custom border while ''inspecting''.

Beside my work equipment (which will be quite expesive, so the best and most secure I can find), I also have some exotic hobbies (astronomy, astro/micro photography, etc) and all the stuff I need will probably be shipped from Germany. When I was in London I had to drive 3 to 5 hours to find some spot dark enough to do something decent. Bulgarian countryside I am assuming will be pretty dark.

London light pollution might be around 500 million lumens. Bulgarian village definitely less. :-)
