Visa Type D

Hi,

Am moving to Belgium shortly. Myself and my spouse hold an Indian passport. My company has filed a work permit of type D (more than 90 days) for me. I guess the work permit is valid for an year. They are planning to file a dependent visa of type D for my spouse as well.

With type D dependent visa, will my spouse be able to work if she finds a job or do she needs a work permit ?? I read most of the post inquiring about dependent work permit visa restrictions but couldnt find a hit on the type d dependent visa.

Hi Phipiemar,

I read there is a change of visa procedures and regulation from 1st April 2019. So am trying to get people's experience rather than trusting some random blogs and sites.Below is the site which am referring too

Seems like few people kept updating to read old post for all the dependent queries and so there is not latest information available from people's experience after change in visa regulation from 1st April 2019.

Below is information I read.

Dependent of Visa D or single permit holder with one year of resident permit (RP) will be eligible to work directly without any special work permit. Since work permit C will apply automatically on dependent when the visa D or single permit holder gets a resident permit for one year.

But am not sure whether I understood the regulations properly. So it will be great if someone who went through the process to confirm it.

I feel this forum is created and dedicated to help each other rather than trusting a random site.
