Looking for a Belgian notary for a 1031 Exchange (English-speaking)

mariedeparis

Hi everyone,

My spouse and I are Belgian-American taxpayers, and we’re planning to sell a property in Belgium as part of a U.S. 1031 Exchange. We’re looking for a notary in Belgium who can handle all documents and communication in English and who has experience with cross-border transactions.

Has anyone here gone through a similar process or worked with a notary who understands both Belgian real estate law and the basics of a 1031 Exchange? Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated—especially regarding notaries who are comfortable coordinating with U.S. qualified intermediaries and tax advisors.
