Pain management doctors

Dr. Michael Soler recently became the first doctor on the island to be awarded the necessary certification from the Government to prescribe medical cannabis to qualifying patients, (non-smoking forms only). I believe it is available in capsuls, flowers, and drops (oil?).

The doctor expertly noted that patients must be diagnosed with one of fourteen approved conditions to be eligible for a prescription. These conditions include alzheimer’s, anorexia, anxiety disorders, arthritis, cachexia, cancer, chronic pain, crohn’s disease, epilepsy, fibromyalgia, HIV, hepatitis C, spinal cord injury, lateral sclerosis (ALS), migraines, multiple sclerosis, parkinson’s disease, persistent muscle spasms, rheumatoid arthritis, and severe nausea.

If we are talking Cannabis, there are over 100 certified doctors in PR and more are signing up.

While I appreciate the info on Cannabis, I am trying to find a Pain Management doctor in the Aguada/Aguadilla/Rincon area that speaks English and can prescribe prescription pain medication (e.g., Fentanyl).  I am totally disabled and have to fill my prescription every 30 days and I know the PR pharmacies won't fill my prescription from the US.  Anyone know of a PR pain management specialist that you would recommend?  Please also let me know if you have a primary doctor you recommend if a referral is usually required.

I will be relocating to the Island in June . Why I don't need pain management. I do need other medical attention. My doctor has agreed to see me via Skype. My medications will be shipped from Canada. Not sure if this can be done for you, but it may be worth talking to your doctor.

Not just medical marijuana, we have that covered.

I’ve been to 3 different doctors and can’t find anyone who will prescribe and I’ve been still using my doctor from FL using Telemd. I have the necessary MRI results and diagnosis but need someone in Humacao or Caguas area. I’m even willing to drive to San Juan or Bayamon once a month.

@Gtlkritz please let me know who you found. I travel to Rincon and live there for a couple of months to care for my mother. I need a dr who can follow up w my drs in Georgia for my pain and medications. 

Yes. I would like what doctors to contact to make appointments in San Juan and Ponce. I’m moving back to San Juan on Monday but I plan to live in Ponce.
