You should only be doing the contents correct?  Is there a blanket policy on the building?

Some condo developments require some kind of insurance policy; many don’t police it.  Check your contract.  They will CTA.  (cover their..)

I doubt that a bldg in Bavaro would have insurance to cover your property, but if I’m wrong, I’d love to know which development that is!

Most developments have insurance for what could happen to their property, but not for what could happen, for example, to your car in their parking lot from a fallen tree or a flood.  Watch out.  Not in Kansas anymore.  You will need to insure your own stuff.

William Harper & Asociados is a great insurance broker, and a fantastic connection.  They’re in the Punta Cana Village.  Avoid CMS Seguros at all costs; had a really bad experience.  There are other alternatives, even straight with your bank.  Banreservas... Universal...

Cost will depend on the coverage.

Shop around...
