Shipping household items and clothes from the D.R. to the U.S.

ppauley

My wife and I are unfortunately having to move back to the U.S. for medical reasons after just four years here in Sosúa. We’ve accumulated a modest amount of small household items and clothing that we’d like to ship home.

We’re looking for recommendations on reliable shipping companies that handle moves from Sosúa (or the Dominican Republic) to the U.S. Ideally, we’d love a true door-to-door service if possible.

Does anyone have experience or suggestions for companies that provide good service, fair pricing, and peace of mind? Any tips on the process would also be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

Try contacting Dominican International Movers. We moved to Panama earlier this year and used a Panamanian company for the move, but they contracted with DIM for everything on the DR side of the move. The movers actually showed up early, they were very professional, and they packed our loose items, including a bed, really well. The bulk of what we sent was in 27-gallons totes.
