Inheritance or real estate attorney

clevermarsh3j

My siblings and I would like to hire an attorney in the San Francisco de Macoris area to conduct research into some properties we inherited. My father is deceased and my aunts and uncles are not being very forthcoming on what we would inherit from our grandparents now that they have passed.

Welcome to the forums.  I don't know a lawyer in that area, hoping someone else does.

What I understand about these types of situations is that it tends to be a long involved process!  If you can, keep us posted as you may be helping others.

Wishing you the best of luck resolving your situation.  Very wise ro hire a lawyer.

Did your parents leave a will?  Do you have a copy?

@ExpatRusher

It was inheritance from the grandparents whichever here pass to their deceased children's children.

This is what my research so far has lead me to find. I am going to call the tax office tomorrow and try and see what inheritance taxes were paid and for what. That may give me some

insight as to what exactly it is I am searching for. As I understand it, a court would designate which heirs receive the land however, I’m unsure which court would give me the information I need without a Cedula number. Unrelated to this, I started working on my Dominican citizenship but that may take time as well. A total mess so far but I’m working my way through it.

I am sorry you are going through all of this.  If a court has been involved, the lawyers should have notified all parties or possible parties.  But, I do know how things can work here.
