any recommendations or concerns on cosmetic surgery in the DR

my mother in law is needing an eye lid /  lift surgery - its common in the US but not sure if anyone here is performing such a cosmetic process here in the DR. punta Cana area would be better than Santo Domingo (as I hate driving over there) but not a deal breaker

any advice would be great.

I have a friend who had it down in SD about 2 years ago. I’ll find out who her surgeon was. She’s happy with the results and hers wasn’t purely cosmetic but to improve her vision as well.

It will be Sto Dom most likely.... for a doctor.

Many available here

Yes Santo Domingo is the hub of all things plastic surgery.

Which doctor will depend on her age and health but there are several very good surgeons here.

Side question, will plastic surgery cause issues with DR health insurance plan?

No, its just not covered by  DR Insurance plans. Any complications from it may not be covered either.

Won't pay is the bell winner and not right...Someone I know had cosmetic surgery about 10 yrs ago and recently ran into health issues from it and insurance wont pay for any treatment or anything for help.

Here's the plastic surgeon that my friend used for her eyelids: Adolfo Sesto

She was very happy with the process and the results. He is in Santo Domingo.
