Seeking Iranian/Persian communities in Vietnam!?

Hi Folks,

I'm an Iranian citizen currently living in Cambodia. I have an offer from a Vietnamese company in Hanoi to join them.

If you let me know any Iranian communities or anyone to get some information, it would be sincerely appreciated in advance!

Hi there. I have asked admin to review your post. One of your words will likely be moderated 😉, after which your post will reappear.

Please do not be put-off by that member's inflammatory post. We're a helpful bunch of expats here, and are happy to have you with us.

Sorry I can't offer any suggestions as to Iranian social groups/events.

Have you been to Vietnam before?

Understood and, of course, accepted.

Will the company you'll be with be handling your work permit application? It is the employer who must make the work permit application to VN's ministry of labour for permission to hire you. Upon acceptance of the employer's application, you will then be eligible to apply for and receive a work visa. Details on a work permit vs a work visa can be found here. (Link to local VN travel/visa-agency). This is very important, and warrants your reading and understanding it fully. There had been cases reported by expat.com members of their entering VN only on a tourist eVisa, only to be met with with disappointing results.

As far as accommodations are concerned, I highly suggest you arrange for temporary lodgings (hotel, AirBnB, homestay etc) and take the time to view any potential properties which might interest you prior to entering into any written or verbal agreement to let. There have been countless posts from members over the years offering good advice on rental agreements. I see you've subscribed to the Hanoi sub-forum. The Vietnam forum's main page can be found here. Take a moment to do a search on that main page for rentals/property/apartment etc and you'll find many.

Temperature today in Hanoi is a sizzling 41C (47C with humidex!). The summer months I've spent there (3 summers) were the hottest I've ever experienced. Conversely, winters can be quite chilly, with temps dropping down to the single digits not being unheard of.

Dear Aidan,

I really appreciate your informative and helpful response,

So sounds great, as I understood, it's possible to directly apply for a work permit through the employer and then a business visa!

For accommodation, if you have experience with any local app that may be efficient and reliable, please let me know!?

For commuting, are we allowed to use a motorbike below 125cc without a license? In Cambodia the license not needed for the mentioned bike class!

Regarding the weather and temperature, I also experienced the hottest summer here😥 a few months ago!

As the last question, are you recently aware of the approximate duration time for processing work permit and a visa !?

Your kind and helpful support would be appreciated in advance.

Dear Aidan,I really appreciate your informative and helpful response, So sounds great, as I understood, it's possible to directly apply for a work permit through the employer...

It is the employer who must apply for the work permit. What they are doing is justifying to the ministry of labour their need to employ you. Your participation in the work permit process, as I understand it, is only to provide the employer with your qualifications, certificates, diplomas, and/or degrees. The employer is obliged to show the ministry of labour that there are no Vietnamese nationals available to fill the position.

...and then a business visa!

No, no. It's "and then a work visa". A "business visa" is altogether different. On the Vietnam forum main page, see Visas To Enter Vietnam. The first posts there are a couple of years old now, but the thread contains enough information to make things clear for you.

For accommodation, if you have experience with any local app that may be efficient and reliable, please let me know!?

Sorry I can't make any app suggestions/recommendations. I've always recruited the help of a local in my searches. There is a popular online classifieds site which I'd peruse, and then get a Vietnamese compatriot to make the phone calls to arrange for a viewing. There is, unfortunately, no English version of the site, so if you do not speak Vietnamese you'll have to rely on a browser translator. Here is the link (Hanoi specific) to nhatot.com. It will give you a good idea of what a local would be prepared to pay for accommodation. I'd mentioned in another thread that any adverts you see for apartments written in English will easily be twice the price.

For commuting, are we allowed to use a motorbike below 125cc without a license? In Cambodia the license not needed for the mentioned bike class!

Currently 50cc here, but there is now discussions on requiring even those to require a license. An alternative would be a smaller e-bike (license-free).

Regarding the weather and temperature, I also experienced the hottest summer here😥 a few months ago!As the last question, are you recently aware of the approximate duration time for processing work permit and a visa !?

That's something your employer would be able to answer for you. Alternatively, you might reach out to another visa agency, one which has been used by many expat.com members, and ask them by phone on their help line, here. This agency has received excellent reports from fellow members of this forum.

Your kind and helpful support would be appreciated in advance. - @giscivil92

No sweat. Feel free to ask any further questions you might (will!😁) have. Lots of friendly folk here.

@Aidan in HCMC

Dear Aidan,

I really appreciate your helpful and comprehensive information.

Knowing them in advance gonna be a time-saving and efficient way to get to know the environment and circumstances!

I don't want to take up your time anymore,

For work permit application, the university degree, and work experience certificate legalization is required!

Could you or anyone know it let me know what language must be translated to legalize and other documents may be necessary for this matter!?

Any kind advise would be highly appreciated in advance.
