Another Visa Question ---

Now that Vietnam seems to have opened up to visitors again, is the One-Year Multi-Entry Visa for U.S. citizens available again?
I have read conflicting reports about the visa--- Some say it hasn't been reinstated yet, while others claim it is now available. Any clarification would be appreciated!

No.

Anyone attempting to hook you is offering a scam.

The best way for the average person to be informed (IF the policy changes) is to be on the email list of a trustworthy Visa agent.

They are just as eager as you (if not more so) to get back to business as usual.

Also, subscribe to THIS sticky thread (LINK).

I will definitely update there as soon as the restrictions change.

Cheers!

@deebee123

I tried on the VN gov't site to get a multi-entry, multi month visa. No go. ONLY able to get a 30-day eVisa. That's it!

Talking about scams - 4 in the family have been phoned by "Police" today about stealing money,,, stealing panadol from Hanoi hospital, stealing bike and give I.D. and address etc.

Would be good info to warn all your VN speaking friends about, some may be scared and give the information to them.

Mine got a call from Đà NαΊ΅ng police last week, saying somebody used her ID information to rent a car that was in an accident causing damage and she now owed β‚«16,000,000 VNĐ

I checked with my attorney in HCMC and she said these scams are running rampant right now, so ignore it.

@deebee123Β  Instead of asking on the forum, probably better to check the embassy or consulate websites in the USΒ  (Houston, NY, SF, DC) and you will see they are not issuing the 1 year visa.Β  I have been working with the SF consulate on the 5 year waiver and they are helpful if you can ever get them to pick up the phone.
