Hello fellow Forum members . My name is Peter writing to you from sunny Western Australia . I have been here for 2 months since I left Vietnam .
I will be returning back "home" to VN in the New Year and will live in HCM this time . I was previously living in Dong Nai province which was on Highway 51 , half way between HCM and Vung Tau . Quite the rural setting I must say . My weekly movie marathon was to Bien Hoa , only an 80 klm round trip on my trusty scooter , but the bonus for a sore posterior was "Burger King "
I have not spent a great deal of time in HCMC and will be looking at Accommodation options on my return
I would like to establish a circle of social friends when I get back to do movies , cafes , dinner , golf.table tennis , swimming and all sorts of other activities . I would also like to meet people already involved in the English teaching field that i might be able to get some direction and pointers from

There's no Burger King in Biên Hòa but they have Lotteria and KFC which kinda mimics your fast food experience. I know the QL51 very well; so were you in Long Thành rural district then? They just built a "freeway" (what Americans call the Đường cao tốc) through Long Thành town. This portion is nearly completed and they expect to open it to traffic (no motorbikes) in 2014.

Tran Hung Dao , hey buddy , sorry but there is a burger king in Bien Hoa at the movie complex . Yes Long Thanh district i was in , just near the big pagoda

Mark , you cannot get a train to Hoi An from Saigon , you have to go to Danang first and then get a bus down to HA . Go to Seat61.com which will give you all the information you need about train travel , schedules , fares , etc you will need for Vietnam

Which movie complex? The only one I've been to is the one at CoopMart and I don't remember seeing it at the food court level. I like Burger King fries and remember seeing the first one but that was in HCMC.

I stand corrected. Google came up with an address for a Burger King in Biên Hòa. I'll have to find it next time I'm in the city.

I'm living in Ho Chi Minh City now (actually my hometown is in Can Tho city)
I had a picnic with my friends at an ecotourism area called Bò Cạp Vàng in Dong Nai 10 days ago. Wondering whether u went there yet
Anyways I'd love to hangout with u and show u HCMC
