Shipping within Vietnam

I’m wanting to get to Da Nang from Saigon, but my bag exceeds the 44lb limit so airline wants $150 extra. Is there a good, reasonable way to ship a package weighing less than 25kg between these two cities?

Most airlines allow 23kg which is about 50lbs. If your bag is actually 54lbs can you buy a small tote or duffel and throw the extra 4lbs in there?.

I've had good experiences using Viettel Post (with the assistance of Vietnamese people) to ship within Vietnam on a number of occasions.

My experience has been that it's much easier to do when a Vietnamese citizen ships to another Vietnamese citizen in Vietnam.

As a US passport holder they seem to search the contents of the package more closely than they do for a Vietnamese citizen.

Many things are not allowed including sharp objects and some other products.

I almost always shipped inside a small or medium suitcase.

They even have a service available for a slight additional charge to come to your location and pick up the package for shipping, but again you might have better results if you ask a Vietnamese friend or a Vietnamese concierge at your hotel to arrange everything for you.

It will still be cheaper than the additional accompanied baggage charge on an airplane.
