Hi,

Can anyone help, my friend is Vietnamese wants to send money USD 1.000 for me to Indonesia. But government put strict rules not allowed for Vietnamese sending money to other people, only to parents or siblings. Can you please help?

We cannot give advice about doing illegal things here in the expat forum.

If your Vietnamese friend asks other Vietnamese people, then I'm 100% sure they will give the information your friend needs.

HOWEVER, it's possible your Vietnamese friend is using the law as an excuse.

Perhaps your friend doesn't want to offend you by saying "no".

So instead, your friend tells you the truth about the law.

Maybe your friend knows the illegal way to send money but doesn't want to beeak the law.

So maybe you should ask your friend, "Why aren't you willing to break the law in order to help me?"

I mean, what kind of friend isn't willing to break the law for a friend?
