As of Aug 4th, 2026 i have not received my SSA check

This is the first time after 6 and a half years that i didn't receive the check in my account. Did everybody on the SSA list receive their check in their account? - @Good_Man

The Social Security Administration (SSA) relies on Social Security benefit recipients to report events that may affect their benefits. To verify the status of beneficiaries with a foreign address on record, SSA contacts these individuals annually or biennially (every two years).

The first mailings for Calendar Year (CY) 2026 of the Foreign Enforcement Questionnaires (FEQ) (Forms SSA-7161 and SSA-7162) were released on July 2, 2026. These mailings are directed to Social Security beneficiaries who meet one or more of the following criteria:

Age 90 or older

Have a Representative Payee Social Security Number (SSN) ends in 00-49

Please note: Individuals in countries on the USPS International Mail Service suspension list are excluded from the Foreign Enforcement Questionnaire (FEQ) mailing. Social Security beneficiaries in those countries are not required to respond.

Recipients are required to respond within 45 days of receiving the questionnaire. You may respond in one of the following ways:

By Telephone: Call the dedicated international SSA line at +1-855-522-6936 (7:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time) to complete the FEQ by phone. By Mail: Return the completed FEQ in the envelope provided to:

In the absence of a response to the initial contact, SSA will send a second mailer to non-responders. Failure to comply with the Foreign Enforcement Program requirements will result in the suspension of benefits.

So it's possible we may have talked about this before, but I'm wondering about your permanent address in Vietnam and how good is the postal service in your area?

By that, I mean, do you regularly get things delivered to you that are addressed to you?

Many people in Vietnam don't receive mail from the Vietnam postal system because the local carriers will not deliver until someone answers a phone and confirms that someone is there at the correct address.

So I wonder whether or not you might have missed an official notice from Social Security sent to your Vietnam address?

Also, I remember once advising someone to download the right form from the internet and then mail it to the USA address, because the person didn't want to do business with the Federal Benefits Unit (FBU) at the US Embassy in Manila, Philippines.

But the email I received makes it very clear that's bad advice, unless a person is mailing the official form in the official return envelope provided.

So hopefully your form was submitted properly AND your local post office delivery person knows you and delivers all incoming mail to you successfully.

Well, I probably figured it out. I had several addresses that listed my Quy Nhon address. Hopefully, that will do the trick. I'll soon know if it works.

Good_Man, I am tad confused about some of the sentences you've written, especially, later on in this thread, "I had several addresses that listed my Quy Nhon address." Would that actually be "I had several Quy Nhon addresses on different pieces of documentation."? Anyway.

I can't be sure from reading your entries on this thread whether you're getting direct deposits or a paper check in the mail. I think the latter would be extremely problematic. If this is the delivery method, and this is the first time the payment was late, that would be a miracle in and of itself!

I had a single SSA check (actually direct deposit) show up about 10 days late when DOGE was rampaging through the US government's offices in D.C. and across the country. I immediately emailed my congressperson and got no response. Since then, things have been reliably and consistently on the third Wednesday of the month, as advertised.

I think I figured it out. I forgot to change my address for about 3 months and I got caught because my address hasn't changed. So I changed my address and I'll see if it works.
