Overstay (liaison missed our 90 day notification)...what happens now?

I had this problem of overstaying for a day for which I have to pay a penalty of @ 500 bhats per day.  While going out of immigration they will check you visa and will send you inside the office at the airport.

They will handover the form in which reasoning is mentioned. You have to tick one of that.

Pay the fine and proceed to your destination.

You can check inn at the counter with the valid ticket, and proceed to the immigration.

Sometime you enjoy paying fine when money is exhausted.

I take it you mean you have missed a 90 day report?

If so, get it sorted by going to immigration NOW. You may be fined 2000 Baht(that is the fine) BUT this is Thailand and you might just get a word of warning. A very cool apologetic approach should do the trick.

BTW The other correspondent is talking about OVERSTAY i.e. staying in Thailand after your permission to stay expires. A MUCH more serious situation.

90 days addresses report (notification) can be done 15 days before to 7 days after.

So if you have got it done today, NO Fined to pay.

200 Baht fine for everyday late reporting  they give you 7 day window after that you pay.

You can do by mail to most immigration offices, some you cannot.

This is incorrect. It's a one off 2000 Baht fine.

You quote Thai Visa forum. Read this post on that forum.

Overstay is 500 Baht a day up to 20,000 Baht maximum.

Correct it is a Bt 2000 fine. I renewed my Retirement Visa and Multiple Re Entry visa early because of an upcoming public holiday but nobody told me that I also had to report as well. So returned on time for next the 90 day report to find that I had a Bt2000 lesson. Now I know.

Thank you all. I have officially taken care of this problem. Thankfully my liaison sorted things out 6 days after my 90 day retort was due with NO extra charges incurred.
Not sure that this would be the case every time but thought you all should know the outcome and know that it is not necessary to reply further.

dont worry if you lose the 90 day notification, you told them and they look in com and see that you stay not longer then 90days and you get your permit for next 90 days !
