I suggest posting an advert in the Thailand classifieds for expats section, where you will find a dedicated category for language classes.

You could also consider a language exchange, offering to teach basic English in return for learning Thai. You could keep it informal by simply meeting for lunch or a coffee and practising together.

Hi John,

After some frustrating lack of responses to my search for somewhere to get Thai language instruction, starting next January when I hope to finally get back to Thailand for a multi-month stay, someone pointed me to

www.insightenglish.com

They have multiple schools around the country, but I don't how close any would be to you.  I ultimately ended up speaking/e-mailing with the owner, but would prefer to just point you to the website for starters.
