To be able to move in Taiwan, a lot of expatriates think of buying a car, whether new or second-hand.

What are the formalities to buy a vehicle in Taiwan: car registration, insurance, etc.?

What are the relevant authorities or organizations to contact?

How long does it take and what are the associated costs?

anyone with an ARC can buy a car in Taiwan and register it in their own name. IT's quite easy to get a local license and Taiwan has many places that licenses from overseas are recognized to swap for a Taiwan license. Or simply take the license test in English.
