Confused what date to start

Hi guys,
I am having a dilemma on when I should write my start date in my resume or applications.

Company A and B are sister companies.
I was moved from company A to B last June 2020 with a different job role.

So technically, my start month was June 2020 with company B.
But my pass was only changed October 2020.

If I am to write my resume, what date should i start for company B? Same goes with filling up my PR application.

Legally (meaning for the authorities), your start date was in October, as you were previously still employed at company A.
But to explain your job history and work experience (e.g. in a CV meant for job applications) you should say June.
