S pass renewal and new EP application

Is there a rule that states once an old S pass is renewed, there will be time period that a new EP can be applied for? I am not comfortable anymore in my current job but I made the mistake to say yes to the HR to renew my old S Pass. I have even decided that if by end of April I don't get a job, I want to go back to my country since my current job is unbearable. Right now I'm having job interviews. I am really scared that if my S pass is recently renewed, new EP application by new employer won't be approved by MoM. Does anybody have experience related to this?

I think my HR applied to renew my S Pass on 22 March, she said there is no result yet and may take 4-6 weeks. Can I see the process online? I used the status portal and it still show my old pass expiry date. I'm really worried since my colleague said it took her 3 days only for renewal. Should I just ask my HR to cancel it if I die die want to leave the job? Thanks

EDIT: Sorry I meant new S Pass application, just realize if my new salary is 3500-4000 SGD, it only qualifies for S Pass

There is no such rules on a specific time period your new employer can’t apply S pass application.

So, if I understand correctly your renewal is still pending. If you are selected by a new employer then your existing renewal application has to withdraw before the new application can be applied.

It’s up to you whether you can ask you current employer to withdraw the renewal. In a scenario if you don’t get a new job and your work pass approval then you have to go back.

On online update, are you checking EPONLINE? Or checking SG workpass validity? SG workpass only shows the validity period. So it will change only after it got renewed (after your renewal was approved and you signed IPA letter then MoM updates). Good luck

Have my company paid anything for the renewal if its still pending? if yes, will it be refunded if they withdraw?

Renewal of s pass cost less than $250. If they withdraw then fees won’t be refunded as MoM is already reviewing the application.

You don’t ask them to withdraw now, you may only request when you got a new job or decided not to work with this employer anymore.

Your workpass validation will only change once it’s approved.
