Singapore EP

pranaveen

Hello All,

I have been working in Singapore for a local company from 2012 to 2013 with 5+ years of experience with EP.

Exactly nearing 1 year, they planned to terminate me by saying some silly reasons, though i was performing well. i have tried to continue with them, but couldn't make it done. So started looking outside and luckily got a offer from Singapore company itself. My employer cancelled my EP and i have returned back to india and waiting for the new EP applied with the new company. Unfortunately for the update as my EP application is rejected as i have cancelled my previous EP in one year from received and hence i can't be provided with a new EP.

on same time, i have fully loaded with my DBS credit card and struggled a lot on repayment with my indian salary. Luckily i could manage to settle the complete dues by 2015. But my starhub and M1 bills is still pending as after 2013 june month, starhub cancelled my account and i have no idea on how to make the payment.

Please advice me on the issues that i may be facing when i come back to Singapore ? Below are my questions

1. Will i get my EP again , if i have applied with a job offered  for 8000-10000 SGD salary ?
2. Will i retained at Changi, when i reached Singapore with EP / Tourist visa ?

By the way, i am ready to make the pending  dues with interest, i have been provided an alternative option to make it done.

Thanks,
pranaveen

Your EP rejection should not be based on what you have elaborated here, unless StarHub and M1 filed a complaint at regulator along with a case at subordinate court here.

In general, they must have send multiple emails and mails to your last resident address. It must have had better if you would have discussed with them through email at that time to pay the pending amounts through negotiation.

Don’t try to run away from your responsibilities, no matter how difficult the situation would be. Good luck

Coming back to your below queries:
1. Will i get my EP again , if i have applied with a job offered  for 8000-10000 SGD salary ?

Salary is not the only criteria to get an EP, there are several other factors or yardsticks have played key role for approval. Read various open threads here to understand.

2. Will i retained at Changi, when i reached Singapore with EP / Tourist visa ?

Should not be the case. I never heard of anyone denied entry due to last time uncleared mobile or cable tv or internet bills. But, I assume they never filled a police complaint and file a case against you.

Thanks Surya .

My previous employer forced me to resign my job and eventually they have cancelled my EP in the month of April 2013. I have travelled to India and booked the tickets to back to Singapore by May 2013. On the same time , my new employer applied the new visa and from them only I came to know that I have not offered with my new EP as I have canceled my previous EP before it expired or renewal. Then only I have joined in India and not able to pay my bills . Even up to July 2013 I was making payments to star hub and M1.

But now , I wanted to come back to Singapore and work there . Please advise.

Your uncleared debt will only affect your EP application if you were convicted in court. You should ask the debtors if this is the case or not.
You will only be detained at Changi if a court (or the police, but that is unlikely in your case) has ordered your arrest (e.g. for not appearing in court). Again you should ask your debtors whether such a thing happened.
But even if you get EP approval, you should clear the debt (plus all interest and fees accrued, which might be higher than the original debt) before you come here, to avoid further problems.
And please learn for the future that spending more money than you have is rarely a good idea!
