Work Permit still Processing (2 weeks +)

Helpless1234

Applying for a position in teaching (from Malaysia).

I am very nervous as my work permit is still not approved yet and I can only imagine the worst-case scenario.  I am technically a fresh graduate (officially graduating in 2 months) and as I've only submitted my Highschool Diploma and marks transcript (University) it has left me wondering if I should face the inevitable. I've got two years of working experience.

Please help meeee.

You are fresh graduate with 2yrs of experiences but not sure in sane teaching field or not. As a Malaysian you have an advantage to work in Singapore but certain criteria not in favour such past experiences of other foreigners who are in same field aspiring to be a teacher and educational background seems to be fine.

Wish you good luck. Let us know the result so that other forum members will get benefits.

After just two weeks processing you application is still in the initial phase.

Start worrying (and ask the employer to contact MoM) when it crosses the 8 weeks mark!

@surya2k Hi, yes. My work experience is education related (BEd Degree as well). I was wondering if at this stage MOM is looking into my academic achievements etc. via background checks. Do you happen to know if that could be the case? To what extent will they look into my background? I read the thread and it seems that they will go quite deep, which I think is favourable on my end.

I have a strong academic record and internship but all I just want is to get over this. All I see the word processing and it doesn't tell me whether they are looking into my background or are they checking the workplace etc. Or they aren't even considering me anymore and forgot the application.

It is stressful.

If you have an academic background, a Work Permit is not the right visa type for you. Your employer should apply for an S-Pass or EP for you!
