I used PLDT in both Baguio and Ilocos Sur.  The price was 1,399 a month and included wifi, cable tv, Philippines NBA channel.

(1) Originally I used PLDT when I arrived in the Philippines. Several years ago I had an outage after 3 weeks of a runaround I switched to Sky.

(2) Recently I had an outage lasting 2 weeks of a runaround with Sky.

(3) I'm now with Converge P1599 a month for 350 mbs.

Converge in Ilocos Sur was 1349 a month, but it had no NBA basketball, no NFL.

Addendum to my post.

When getting a new installation get the name & installers cell number.

A few days  after Converge installation I lost service. A truck snagged many fiber lines several blocks away and I called the installer.

It's amazing what a small gratuity would get you. They were arrived within two hours and strung a new line to the junction box two streets down and restored my service.

Hi, same here. I still think it's a good deal. I have quite a big data volume every month, 1TB, and in my area I don't have fiber yet. So pre-paid would be more e expensive for me. Might be different in more urban areas.

I'm getting ready to move as soon as the sale of my house closes and I need information about some of the logistics I should consider. I've spent a short time as a visitor but have questions about the Senior retirement visa. I have many other questions and I'm happy to pay some to help me.

Hey Travelnman.

I don't think you need to pay any one here but would suggest asking questions at all levels with regards to your move.

Are you married to a Filipina or single?

Are you looking for city or provincial living?

Are you on a government pension or self funded?

Do you plan to move furniture/belongings here/shipping?

The list can go on but the main thing would be to getting all your ducks in a row in your home country as in banking, mail, etc.

I am not aware of a senior retirement visa within the Philippines.

I have been coming here for 15 years and simply use the very generous visitor visa for visits and now living here for near 7 years the same, only thing with the visitor visa os the 2 monthly renewals and having to exit the country every 3 years, we normally go on a holiday for a week or 2 but I know of others that fly out on day and return the next day with no problems but remember to have a throw away ticket.

The SRRV (special residents retirement visa) suits many and if you have military service aligned with the Philippines that offers the best deal and very affordable.

Probably time to ask your many questions and the members here will help as they can.

Good luck with your move and plans.

Cheers, Steve.

@Travelnman59

Before you sell your house, spend 6+ months here in the Philippines. Then you know the country is for you. This is related to climate, infrastructure, food and last but not least to a possible partnership.

Beware of  "gold diggers".

If you give us more info, more detailed answers will be given.
