Hi.. Working in Maldives as a Doctor. In Male City it will be quite busy alright and challenging. Though not much of a social life but likely to meet different people in similar profession or with common interests.

Working in a smaller island will be quite rewarding and island folks will have respect and need. The most valuable quality locals will expect is to meet a caring doctor. One must not expect social life beyond happening in a small island community such as going out for a coffee or visiting a friend, going for a swim or to the beach, fishing in a day off or visiting a near by island.

Most of the Indian Doctors have bad experience in Maldives. But I dont know why Pakistanis Doctors are happy in Maldives.
I meet a lot of Pak Doctors they are satisfied from Maldives .
Well situation depend on person to person. May be I ll happy in some country but not you.

Amedico What you consider that India is Superior ,Indian People,Doctors are Superior than other that you mention.Shame on you by saying like this. All Human Being are Equal there is No one Superior by Country ,By Race By Color. Idian People are Good I respect them I have a lot of Idian friend But the Person like you will never respected any where in the World. So Please change your mentality about other that you will have a value evry where. At least you loss a lot by typing such post here.

Actually i had been offered to work in regional hospital V'atoll.
i heard that it's near equator and climate is hot there.
what should i do if i want that appointment letter cancelled and get a new offer somewhere near Male? also the recruiting agency had no physical appearance (in the form of office etc.) here in Pakistan. they were just giving me their account number to submit their commission.

Dear how can we know that some agent is genuine or not and how can we check the authenticity of offer letter as no one re4veives phone there in MOH, Maldives

A recruitment company must have a physical address. and the appointment letter shall come from the MOH, as well as the work permit, you can also contact immigrations office in male to verify if the work permit if genuine.

After reading amedico's little tantrum, I lost a lot of respect I had for Indian doctors such as "amedico".

My personal GP here in Bahrain is an Indian gentleman. A fine gentleman, I must add, and in more ways than one, I consider him a close friend and trusted confidante. If I were to show "amedicos" little tantrum, I am sure he will be appalled at the comment made my "amedico".

I studied in an Indian school and most of my close friends are Indians. Never have I seen such a tone from an Indian.

I hope and pray I do not meet a doctor like "amedico" because a "doctor" such as you is surely useless in what you do, probably completely money minded, devoid of all noble human qualities and above all is a shame to this noble profession!

Kidnly tell me what is the take away salary of a Medical Officer without Over times. and kindly tell me does accommodation is provided or I have to give rent from my salary?

And tell me what are the working conditions there especially for a couple? When both are applying for the job of medical officers job.....Is it safe for females? Plus Some people say it is like a Jail? I have read some very bad reviews of doctors especially indian about Maldives..So how much they are true?

Like they say you have to drink Dirty rain water....and Maldivians never abide by the contract that u have signed...they change it once u are there....They reduce the salary....

Rain water in not dirty if filtered properly. I drink it and I'm fine!

please check with your employer where you will be located, if you will be based on a local island, they depend mostly on rain water. Maldivians lives expectancy is 80, hence it proves that we are good.

if you are based on male, then we have desalinated water available, it tastes terrible, however if it is served cold then its ok. most of the people who lives on male buys bottled water which is not that expensive.

most of the employers provide you with accomodation, you need to check this with the employer

i am not sure about the salaries... hope someone else can help you out with this question..

majority of our doctors are indians, and if yo uread the post above you can find different views...

Are Pakistan doctors doing job of Medical Officer happy there? and if I Have 1500 Dollars salary how much I can save per month from it?

People also say that they promise for accomodation but at the arrival they dont give? is that true? Is it possible they back out from their promises?

Yes Our 8 Pakistanis Doctor are working in IGMH Male Maldives. We all are very happy. About accomodation they provide good acoomodation. Now I am arranging Independence Day Celebration here in Male. Ahan....Great....Sir, can you tell me how much salary is given to a Medical Officer and the Accomodation is given FREE of COST? and do tell me that how much money u can save per year?

The Saving of Money Depends from Person to Person But as I saw Many Medical Officer they save 1000 USD monthly. Yes accomodation is free . Yes there is one Pakistan Drz from Punjab who pass the MRCS Exam from Here. Now he is doing training here in IGMH.
I advise to join job here U can do ur study.

for Exam U have to go Columbo which is about 45-50 minut flight from Male. U can appear easily. Filled online form from Royal college site. I will guide you .

ungoofaaru is a challenging place, if you get paid 1500 you can save atleast a 1000, also depends on your lifestyle .

Some of you(particularly Mooch & Dr Khanpervez) are mistaken  about my remarks. I have written what i myself  & my Indian & Pakistani colleagues felt about MOH Maldives jobs. My intention is not to malign the image of Maldives or to look down on Pakistani doctors. I worked at three places in Maldives.The Opinion about Pakistani doctors are not mine but are of the local Maldivian people where i worked(Again ,you might consider me phoney or might think that i am trying to show off). My intention is to give people , my feed back of working in Maldives .It might differ from some of my colleagues ,but that does not mean that it is all incorrect,or it should not be told.To Mr Mooch, I raise one question -In what way, you can justify the act of MOH Maldives when they asked those two Pakistani doctors to pack up within 48 hours of landing at work place . What crimes were done by these two doctors ? (My Pakistani friends dont misunderstand me I am raising this issue from human point of view ,from doctors point of view (irrespective of their nationality)
Moreover ,so many doctors can not be wrong or they can be biased.Read their views or blogs .You will know the truth .
Dr Khanpervez can not understand the problems of those doctors who are posted to islands (where these atoll & regional hospitals are located)as he is posted to IGMH in Male( a capital place)He is a lucky chap that he got IGMH posting.But the question is how many doctors (whether Indian or Pakistani)are going to be posted to this so called tertiary hospital? just few (you can count  them on your fingers.) ,or most probably  not a single doctor among those who apply for these posts.Thus the  opinion of Dr Khanpervez is irrelevant as far as majority of the doctors(i mean future applicant doctors) are concerned. I further add, that  Some of my Indian doctor who were posted to IGMH ,they too have the similar views(rosy picture) about the working atmosphere .Its we doctors(MO & specialists doctors of atoll & regional hospitals) who made them see the facts.
If someone thinks that i am biased or those Indian doctors who have written adversely, are biased ,I request you to read at different sites written by non Indians or  articles  published in  Minivan News(a Maldivian news paper) about these issues .The local news paper  cant be biased or be mischievous towards their own country.
My intention is to make the doctors(of all the countries) aware of the prevailing situations in Maldives ,so that they do not feel cheated once they land here or they are misguided or taken  for a ride by the recruiting agencies(as these recruiting agencies in India & Pakistan never give the correct picture, neither the MOH is ever transparent in their dealing with expatriates doctors).
          I again, say(no hard feelings ,please),let the truth prevail at all cost , do not try to subdue it by making false claims.

I forgot to mention, Dr Khanpervez is not aware of the  new contract of MOH Maldives,according to which the doctors (MO or specialists / of dispensaries, atoll or regional hospitals)will not be provided any free accommodation.Instead they will be given some allowance in lieu of a free house. Just think, how a poor doctor can find a suitable accommodation in a alien country that too in a far off island.
Dr Khanpervez is inviting all expatriate  to join the Independence day of Pakistan. ....Is it really possible??????????/ Do you know???????
,In Maldives your salary is calculated by minutes & seconds. That is why i say he is out of touch .He thinks of IGMH type of things everywhere , all over the Maldives.Good humour...............REAL INDEPENDENCE............

Amedico I am assigned as President of OverSeas Doctor in Maldives. I know my every Pakistanis Doctor. I am always with contact with most of the Doctor. We contact regularly our each Pakistani, through Embassy or Personaly. Now We are Celebrating Independence Day here in Male Maldives. My All Pakistanis Doctors, teachers Businessman will join us. We will ask them about their problems on that day also. How you can say that I don't know reality. Please stop your mis-guiding the Doctors. If you have some personal problem with Maldivian Personals then try to solve it.I can also help you in solving that problem But Please don't Blame the whole Public because Maldivians are very Nice People.

Amedico if you are Nice and have some sense then see its Forum for Pakistanis Doctors . Why you join this forum. Why you mis guide the Doctors of Pakistan. Please understand it. Other wise you will loss your character as well as respect by posting wrong topics.

I quit from  this forum (if you call it Pakistani Forum) because you do not have the guts to face the truth. I am perfectly capable of solving my problems.I dont need your help.People are not fools,as you think. If you have any political ambitions ,go & fight an election in Pakistan.It will serve you better.

And is that TRUE that they change their contract once on land in maldive...they give u less money than what is written in the contract and the hospital who promised for free accomodation then never gives you.then u have to arrange from ur salary....Is that happened with anyone?

MOH Maldives stopped giving free accommodations to MOs since 2010.Later  they stopped for consultants too.(i am not sure about IGMH Male).The MOH does not honor the contract.They always change it,if they feel like doing so.For that they will never take your occurrence.It is always one sided.
If its a pvt setup, then things might be different.I have no experience with Pvt.setup. in Maldives.

To me, you  appear to suffer from paranoid behavior.You are getting violent because your lies are getting  exposed, by my writings.Do not you feel ashamed of yourself that you are misguiding your own Pakistani colleagues???? just like politicians[ oh!!!!!!!! I have written enough (about working conditions of the doctors in Maldives)on this blog. If someone is really interested in knowing the facts about this place, there is enough material for him to enlighten himself.I am dead sure he/she wont be influenced by your bundle of lies.
My purposes of writing was to reveal the truth about this place & i have succeeded in it . As far as your opinion about me is concerned that is immaterial, I do'nt care.......what you say..........

Relax.....Listen I have searched alot about Doctors life in Maldives and all....I came with the opinion that Pakistani doctors are happy and Indians are not...May be Indians have their own reasons......

And Yes, it is true that some doctors are working as Agents which is not Good...but getting money for a work which can be done free of charge...I think he/she must take money for the processing but telling him the truth that it can done free of charge aswel. This is the way and if u want me to process your documents then I will take this much of amount...Then fine....

Anyhow, doctors like Dr. Pervez Khan are good...As he guided me alot and de didnt say anything that i found lie...He said nothing but the TRUTH
