Dependent visa but working freelance/remote job based on home country

Hello everyone.
So I’ll be moving to Malaysia soon with a dependent visa (my spouse works and lives there as an expat). I’m currently working as a freelancer/doing contract remote job in my home country and paying tax to my home country.
My question is:
1. When I arrived in Malaysia, is it legal for me to keep working on my current freelance job which:
-Address based on my home address in home country
- All earnings are transferred to my home country bank account then transferred to my wife’s Malaysian bank account.
-While paying my home country tax
?

2. If it’s legal, should I still pay Malaysian tax?

3. If it’s illegal, anyone know what kind of step I should take after I arrived there to make it legal?

Sorry for the multiple questions. Any relevant information is appreciated.
Thanks!

@katrinatasman hi! Just wondering if you managed to get an answer to this? I am going to be in a similar situation as you when we move to Malaysia end of this year. It will be highly appreciated if you can share with me what you have done. Thank you!
