Working as digital nomad (freelancing) during paternal leave

Christof Ke.

Hi,

I'm planning to stay and work in malaysia for 1 year.

Currently I'm employed full time (no freelance position) in Germany. To get to Malaysia, I would take 1 year of parental leave, and with permit of my employer, I'm allowed to work max 30 hours/week. (Only 30hrs/week is allowed during paternal leave). So the plan is to get a freelance position as IT consultant (SAP logistics consultant or SAP programming). The point is, I won't have clients when applying for the digital nomad visa, so is there a way to get this visa? Or do you know an agency which gives consulting and services regarding the visa?

@Christof Ke. Hi yes, you may apply under the category of ‘Employed but allowed to work remotely ‘ instead of self employed. You will have to show active employment contract though. You may check out my website ashdanconsulting dot biz and reach out to me at ***

So If I'm getting a visa as remote worker for a foreign company, am I allowed to work for another company (e.g. Malaysia based)?
